Darron Powell is a sole practitioner in El Paso, where he practices in the areas of estate planning and probate, civil and general business practice. He has lectured to various professional groups on estate planning and probate, business formation and income tax withholdings for employers.
Mr. Powell received his B.S. and M.S.degrees from the University of Texas at El Paso, M.B.A. degree from the University of Texas at Austin and J.D.degree from Texas Tech University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in May, 2000. He is a past President of the El Paso Probate Bar Association, and past District 7 Chairman of the State Bar Grievance Board.
Mr. Powell personally organized the creation of a unique urban moist soil managed wetlands project in El Paso below the Bustamente Waste Water Treatment Plant in Socorro,Texas called the Rio Bosque Wetlands.He raised funds,coordinated support and cooperation with federal, city, and private organizations to convert a 372 acre city park into a managed wetland refuge.Instrumental in convincing the Mayor to donate the 372 acre park valued at $1.5 million to the University of Texas at El Paso to be run conjunctively as a water fowl refuge and public park. He received the Conservation Service Award from the national DU Board of Directors.
